What do I need for end-of-year reporting?

I'm not a lawyer. Please verify with your state's official requirements.
End-of-year reporting has a way of looming larger in your mind than it does in practice.
My first year, I left it too late. I spent a week trying to reconstruct what we'd done from memory and scattered notes.
After that, I changed my approach entirely.
Now the end of year is almost anticlimactic, because everything is already in one place before I even sit down to compile it.
Some states require nothing at year's end. Others want attendance records, a subject summary, or evidence of learning. A smaller number require a formal portfolio review or standardized test.
For our family, grovio handles most of this automatically: attendance is logged daily, and when reporting comes around I can export a clean attendance record directly from the app. If a portfolio review is required, I used to dread the printing and organizing. Now I just send a link. The evaluator sees everything, organized and timestamped, without me touching a printer.
For families keeping paper records, a printed attendance log, a simple monthly subject note, and a folder of work samples collected through the year will cover the same ground.
The most important thing is to look up your state's requirements now, not in May. It takes about ten minutes and completely changes how you feel about the whole process.
🌱 grovio exports your attendance record in one tap — and generates a shareable portfolio link so you never have to touch a printer.
